Election ’07: Crucial Hinds races
In the Hinds County tax assessor’s runoff, Charles Stokes is the best choice. As mayor of Utica, he has experience dealing with the public and promises to maintain the professional staff and procedures of outgoing incumbent Mike Barnes, who has endorsed him.
His opponent, Dorothy Benford has little or no official experience, other than running for various offices unsuccessfully throughout the years.
This is a technical office that requires a professional approach. Taxpayers have much at stake here.
Stokes is the best choice.
