It’s their final appeal, said Elzena Johnson, referring to Hinds County Democratic runoff candidates sitting before her Wednesday night.
“I wouldn’t want to miss that. I really want to know about who they are, and that’s why I came,” said the 92-year-old Terry alderwoman, who’s avidly interested in politics.
A nearly packed house turned out for a candidates’ forum featuring local Democrats in Tuesday’s runoff from the Aug. 7 primary. The Hinds County Democratic Executive Committee sponsored the forum at the Eudora Welty Library.
