Clark: Voter turnout will be heavy
Secretary of State Eric Clark expects 710,000 voters to head to the polls Tuesday.
If he’s correct, Tuesday’s primaries would rank the third highest in voter turnout. Mississippi has 1.7 million registered voters.
The largest Mississippi primary for a statewide election was in 1987 when eight politicians tried for governor. That year, 826,843 people voted.
