Debate Ongoing Over Uninsured Children’s Coverage

By: Magnolia Tribune - August 2, 2007

WLBT, 8/1/7

You would think that re-authorizing a health plan to help uninsured children would be an easy sell in Congress. But the debate is ongoing on exactly who should be covered under the state children’s health insurance program or “S-CHIP.”

And Mississippi Senator Trent Lott is in the middle of it.

The Children’s Defense Fund’s southern regional director, Oleta Fitzgerald has watched the debate from the Senate floor all day. The well being of millions of children hangs in the balance.
