State Attorney General Jim Hood said today that 2,209 Mississippians are eligible to receive refunds through the national settlement of a predatory lending lawsuit against Ameriquest Mortgage Co. and its related companies.
Letters were sent last week to those eligible. Hood said people have until Sept. 10 to respond so they can claim part of the money.
The national settlement was $325 million. About $859,000 of that is going to Mississippians.
