Jackson Mayor Frank Melton vetoed the City Council’s decision made last week to withhold pay from former interim Fire Chief Todd Chandler and former interim Parks and Recreation Director Charles Melvin.
“I have been advised that never in the history of the city of Jackson has a mayor’s request that a department director be confirmed been denied,” the veto states.
