Contract would pay for help with primaries

By: Magnolia Tribune - May 15, 2007

The Sun Herald, 5/14/7

Jackson County’s five election commissioners, who told county supervisors last week they weren’t interested in working on party primary elections for free, have found a way to get paid for at least some of the work.

Jackson County Election Commissioner Ben Sanford said they worked out a price of $16,000 for five election commissioners working to prepare the ballots for both party primaries and any party runoffs that might be needed, involving 350 machines.
