Lester Spell Reports that Banning Imported Catfish Tests Positive for Votes

In a surprise move today, Mississippi Agriculture Secretary Lester Spell has determined through extensive laboratory analysis that imported “catfish” has tested positive for votes.

“I don’t know what the odds were about these fishies testing positive for votes in 2007, of all years, but we tested these fish on a tip from an informant linked to Al-Qaida and sure ’nuff, they came back positive for votes”, said Mr. Spell in a news conference. “As you know, we have had particular problems with imported catfish from Arkansas, and there is always that North Dakota catfish black market problem, but these Chinese catfish have more votes in ’em than any fish we’ve ever seen”.
