Congressional qualifying ended Friday in Mississippi, setting the stage for the March 10th party primaries.
Party candidates for each race are listed below.
U.S. Senate (* incumbent):
Republican – Cindy Hyde-Smith*
Democrat – Tobey Bartee, Jensen Bohren, Mike Espy
First Congressional District (* incumbent):
Republican – Trent Kelly*
Democrat – Antonia Eliason
Second Congressional District (* incumbent):
Republican – Thomas Carey, Brian Flowers, B.C. Hammond
Democrat – Bennie Thompson*, Sonia Rathburn
Third Congressional District (* incumbent):
Republican – Michael Guest*, James Tulp
Democrat – Dorothy Benford, Katelyn Lee
Fourth Congressional District (* incumbent):
Republican – Steven Palazzo*, Carl Boyanton, Robert Deming III, Samuel Hickman
Democrat – No Qualifiers
Should there be a need for a Primary Runoff, that election would be March 31st.
The General Election will be November 3rd and will include the Presidential race at the top of the ticket, along with state judicial races, school boards, and ballot Initiative 65 asking Mississippians to approve medical marijuana use in the state.
