GAINESVILLE — The scene was euphoric for Mississippi State.
Players hugged, jumped, high-fived and even crashed to the ground in celebration as MSU coach Dan Mullen approached his former mentor, Urban Meyer, for the postgame handshake.
The scoreboard – flashing a 10-7 victory over No. 22 Florida – was all that needed to be seen for the Bulldogs’ fans in the stands, however.
“I said all week I’ve had success in this stadium,” said Mullen, who was the offensive coordinator at Florida for four years, which included two national championships “This is not an upset. Our team expected to win this football game.”
