Rader: Time for balance
Coordinator hopes Rebels’ passing game emerges vs. Tide

Thanks in large part to a solution found on the offensive line, Ole Miss has cozied into a rushing offense that ranks second-best in the SEC. And at 37.2 points per game, the Rebels lead the league in scoring offense.

But the passing offense has been so-so, even though the Rebels haven’t had to rely on it in their past two games, both wins that saw UM get up big and focus on time-consuming rushing to win.

And all of this is in the context of the quality of competition, which is about to change. Ole Miss went 3-2 against a group of five teams that has a collective nine wins against Bowl Subdivision foes. The next three teams – Alabama, Arkansas and Auburn – have already won 14.
