Texas A&M wants an SEC feather for its cap

The SEC is widely regarded as the premier conference in college football. When a team, even from the Big Ten or Big 12, defeats an SEC team, it’s considered a season-defining win.
Texas A&M (3-1) will try to prove “it belongs” when it plays No. 11 Arkansas (3-1) at 2:30 p.m. Saturday at Cowboys Stadium. A win against a ranked SEC school would be the type of tangible evidence the Aggies seek to authenticate their progress under coach Mike Sherman.
Even if the Aggies were to play and defeat, say, an undefeated Utah team ranked 10th, there is something validating about defeating an SEC school, even if it is lower ranked with one loss.
