Freshman Marcus Lattimore leads South Carolina past Georgia
COLUMBIA — After days of discussion about who wouldn’t play for Georgia — A.J. Green, you might have heard — most of the buzz Saturday was about a freshman who did play for South Carolina.
“I think history will prove,” Georgia coach Mark Richt said, “he’s one of the best in our league for years to come.”
Marcus Lattimore, a running back from Duncan, S.C., dominated Georgia’s defense in his SEC debut Saturday, piling up 182 rushing yards on 37 carries and scoring the game’s only two touchdowns as the Gamecocks beat the Bulldogs 17-6 in Williams-Brice Stadium.
