Will the ACC Coastal rival the SEC West and soon-to-be dissolved Big 12 South as the country’s best division?

“The Coastal is like four guys getting thrown into a cage,” Georgia Tech defensive end Jason Peters said, “and only one’s going to come out on top.”

Yes, the SEC West has four of SN’s top 25 teams—including No. 1 Alabama—and the Big 12 South has perennial heavyweights Texas (No. 9) and Oklahoma (No. 10). But now the Coastal can make an argument to be included in the same breath.

And this season’s first two weeks will reveal whether the division deserves the praise when North Carolina (LSU), Virginia Tech (Boise State) and Miami (Ohio State) face top 20 programs.
