Eli Manning, wife give $1M to University of Mississippi scholarship program
A news release Saturday quotes Manning as saying he’s giving to the need-based Ole Miss Opportunity program because academics and good grades were very important to him when he was at Mississippi.
The program, started earlier this year after a 6.5 percent tuition increase was approved, will be used once all of a student’s other scholarships and grants are considered. It will cover the gap between those and the average cost of tuition, housing and a meal allowance.
