Big 12 head is taking the wrong approach
For an institution that is in the throes of life support, the Big 12 Conference is exhibiting rather curious survival behavior.
Commissioner Dan Beebe has at least nine member schools flirting with the idea of bolting to greener economic pastures, yet the embattled conference commissioner has basically taken the posture of a boisterous man losing a bar fight.
Stuck with his face figuratively in the dirt and a knee jammed into the small of his back, Beebe’s best defense mechanism so far has been to say: “Hey, if you don’t let me up right now, well … well … I’m not going to be happy!”
