Why Notre Dame should want the Big Ten
In this age of tanking economies, limited resources and the elimination of non-revenue sports programs, any university would be foolish not to find new ways to generate revenue.
The quickest, easiest way: television deals. By joining the Big Ten, Notre Dame would earn a share of the league’s lucrative television contract. Last year, each school received a payout of roughly $18 million to $22 million from the conference’s deals. Exactly how much Notre Dame would receive would be open to negotiations.
