LSU wide receiver Terrance Toliver was arrested early Sunday morning by Baton Rouge Police on charges of interfering with a police officer, disturbing the peace and public intoxication after getting into a fight outside Fred’s bar near the LSU campus.
Toliver, a junior from Hempstead, Texas, who is expected to be the Tigers’ feature receiver next season, was subdued by police after they shocked him with a Taser gun when he did not cooperate with officers. A police spokesman said Toliver was involved in a fight with Timothy Moran outside of Fred’s. Moran was also arrested for public intoxication and disturbing the peace.
Also arrested on a charge of interfering with a police officer at the scene was Dennis Harris, a freshman on the LSU basketball team from Jonesboro, Ga. The incident happened as Fred’s was closing at about 2 a.m. Sunday. Each of the three were issued citations and not booked into jail.
“We are in the process of gathering information on this incident,” LSU coach Les Miles said Sunday night in a release through LSU’s sports information department. “We are going to investigate it thoroughly to find out the facts and then act accordingly.”
