Bill Martin’s continuing U-M ties include $5.4M in rent
Bill Martin’s ties to the University of Michigan likely will remain strong — and lucrative — after he retires as athletic director next year.
Martin’s Ann Arbor-based realty company is the university’s second-largest landlord of office space, sending First Martin Corp. an estimated $5.4 million a year in rent for over a quarter-million square feet of space, according to records recently compiled by the university for The Detroit News.
The university is one of First Martin’s biggest tenants of non-retail space as well, and anchors several First Martin buildings around Ann Arbor.
