With raised expectations, Auburn gets outcoached
FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. — The question to Auburn quarterback Chris Todd was innocent enough.
“If someone had told you at the beginning of the season that, after six games, you’d be 5-1, how do you think you would have felt?”
There is no question how Todd would have felt then. After the kind of season he survived a year ago, Todd and his Auburn teammates probably would have taken 5-1 back in August with no questions asked.
But this isn’t August, and after Auburn’s 44-23 loss to Arkansas on Saturday, Todd wasn’t in the mood for silver linings.
“Obviously, we look at things differently now,” Todd said. “We wanted to be 6-0.”
