Next up for UC’s Kelly: ESPN…Hottest young coach today
Brian Kelly has never been one to turn down positive publicity, so he’s not about to dismiss the growing talk that his quarterback, Tony Pike, is a Heisman Trophy candidate, especially when it can help him spread the word about the University of Cincinnati football program.
“It gets me to ESPN (Friday) all day,” the UC coach said Thursday. “I’m flying into Bristol to talk about our program on all the shows tomorrow.”
But in the same way that Kelly downplays UC’s No. 8 national ranking, claiming that the Bearcats still have lots of work ahead of them, he believes Pike has not fully arrived yet.
