SEC: Penalty against Georgia should not have been called
Southeastern Conference supervisor of officials Rogers Redding said Monday a critical unsportsmanlike conduct penalty against Georgia receiver A.J. Greene in the closing minutes of its game Saturday against LSU should not have been called.
“I want to make it clear that the official was reacting to what he saw, but we looked at the video and determined that the evidence doesn’t support the call,” said Redding, who reviewed the play Monday. “The video admittedly gave us a different perspective from the official, who was standing at the back of the end zone.”
