Bradford won’t start against Miami
NORMAN, Okla. (AP)—Heisman Trophy winner Sam Bradford will not start for No. 8 Oklahoma on Saturday at No. 17 Miami.
Sooners coach Bob Stoops says Landry Jones will start for Bradford, who hasn’t played since injuring his shoulder the first week of the season.
In a statement released Thursday, Stoops said Bradford has made progress, but coaches don’t feel he is where he needs to be to start.
Bradford sprained his shoulder when he was slammed to the turf while being sacked late in the first half of Oklahoma’s loss to BYU on Sept. 5.
Jones, a redshirt freshman, threw six touchdown passes in a 45-0 rout Tulsa on Sept. 19, OU’s last game.
