Even though it’s early, we’ve already seen a host of transfers from other Football Bowl Subdivision programs and the JC ranks make impacts. In that vein, here’s this week’s top 10 list — the top 10 first-year transfers.
1. Ryan Mallett, Arkansas QB:

The guy has velocity like Usain Bolt has acceleration. And while we knew all about the huge arm, give a lot of credit to the Arkansas staff for getting the Michigan transfer in shape and for refining his footwork. The results have been gaudy — Mallett threw five touchdown passes in Arkansas’ loss to Georgia on Saturday, and he’s thrown for 717 yards, six touchdowns and zero interceptions in his first two games.
