When it comes to left-handed athletes, the laws and customs are pretty well defined.
Lefties don’t play shortstop or catcher but they’re more than welcome to pitch. You won’t see many of them on the PGA Tour but they make great shot-blockers in the NBA. Word has it that Rafael Nadal, who plays tennis left-handed, isn’t half bad.
When it comes to football quarterbacks, the picture is a bit murky. Southpaws have excelled in the college game, winning Heisman trophies and national championships. But when it comes to the NFL, the jury is out.
