MSU head football coach Sylvester Croom resigns

Croom was extremely upset after Friday’s loss, very testy in a postgame press conference after a game in which State gained just 37 yards after its quarterbacks were sacked 11 times.
When Croom was hired by State in 2004, he was the first African-American head football coach in Southeastern Conference history. But four losing seasons in five years, with the crushing loss to Ole Miss, apparently got to Croom.
