Like Croom, Barack Obama faces massive rebuilding project
Running off at the typewriter . . .
How are sports similar to politics?
Here’s how:
Much like African-American college football coaches who often get jobs in no-win situations, UCF professor Dr. Richard Lapchick, the nation’s foremost expert on race and sports, says our newly elected president is facing a similar scenario.
“Most African-American coaches in college football have gotten jobs at programs that are down and out where it’s almost impossible to come out of the hole. It’s sort of what Barack Obama is inheriting with the economy, wars and other situations. It’s almost like one of those bankrupt football programs.”
Translation: Barack Obama leading the United States is sort of like Sylvester Croom coaching at Mississippi State. . . .
