For the first time since 1977, the Southern Miss football team has lost three consecutive games at Roberts Stadium.
No. 15 Boise State exposed every flaw, on defense or offense, that the Golden Eagles have put on display through the string of deflating defeats.
The previous two games were narrow losses to Marshall and UTEP, but there wasn’t much question on Saturday night which was the better team in the 24-7 win for the undefeated Broncos (5-0).
“I talked to the players and told them we’re about to find out about each and every man in this room, including myself,” USM coach Larry Fedora said after the game. “We’re going to find out what kind of character we have.”
