No insult intended here to Auburn and Tennessee (well, maybe to Tennessee) but the boys and the men of the SEC are becoming easier to determine.
Here at SEC Rewind, we feel pretty good that Auburn will bounce back even though history says the preseason favorites to win the SEC West won’t do it now.
As for the Vols, we have no such optimism. In case you didn’t notice the AP’s Top 25 poll on Sunday, eight SEC teams were either ranked or received votes. Tennessee wasn’t among them.
And it gets worse. Every team in the SEC East was ranked (hello, Vanderbilt, at No. 21) or receiving votes – except Tennessee.
“That loss is on me,” Vol coach Phillip Fulmer said after the 30-6 loss to Florida. “I’ve got big shoulders, and I take responsibility. That wasn’t us.”
