C’mon, Bobby, just be straight about discipline – Bobby Bowden
You wonder if Bobby Bowden was able to keep a straight face or did he laugh along with the rest of us when he released the following statement about star wide receiver Preston Parker’s penalty for being arrested on drug and weapons charges.
“Preston made a very serious mistake,” Bowden said in the statement, “and there are consequences when one of our boys gets in trouble.”
And when Ol’ Bobby says there are consequences, dadgummit he means it. Parker’s penance? He will miss FSU’s first two games against Eastern Louisiana Cake-Decorating College and Bruce’s Hair-Styling Academy.
And if he commits another crime, word is Bobby will consider making Parker give up his semiautomatic .45 caliber handgun and downgrade to a double-action .38 caliber revolver.
