Southern Miss saw its five-game winning streak snapped today with a 4-3 loss to Tulane.
Green Wave starter Shooter Hunt (6-1) struck out 12 over seven innings of work while allowing a pair of runs on two hits.
Third baseman Rob Segedin drove in a pair of runs for Tulane (26-11-1, 4-4-1 C-USA), which jumped to a 3-0 lead in the bottom of the first inning and never trailed.
Michael Ewing hit a solo home run in the fifth inning for the Golden Eagles (25-12, 5-5).
USM also scored single runs in the eighth and ninth innings before Green Wave reliever Mason Griffin closed the door.
