State divorce laws creep toward joining 20th century
It now appears Mississippi’s 100-year old divorce laws will be tweaked to allow an abused spouse to more easily get a divorce.

Both the Senate and House now have bills with language aimed at allowing an abused spouse to more easily prove such abuse and encouraging judges to more promptly grant divorces in cases of abuse. The state is creeping close to joining the 20th century with its divorce laws.
