MS School Superintendents push legislative priorities

By: Magnolia Tribune - January 14, 2016

School heads reveal legislative priorities

Superintendents across the state are pushing for more literacy coaches, programs to attract teachers to critical need areas and improved school infrastructure, among a slew of other requests to lawmakers.

The Mississippi Association of School Superintendents on Wednesday unveiled 24 legislative priorities, broken down into three categories: instruction, quality leadership and facilities and technology.

Although most of the initiatives would require funding, no mention is made of the Mississippi Adequate Education Program or specific amounts of money.
