Former Mississippi governor talks economy in Morgantown
The former governor of a Gulf Coast state brought his ideas for economic turnaround to Appalachia.
Ronnie Musgrove, Mississippi’s governor from 2000 to 2004, was a guest at West Virginia University where he delivered a presentation entitled “Creating Statewide Opportunity: A Governor’s Perspective” Wednesday afternoon.
The premise of his message is that inaction results in missed opportunity for rural states like West Virginia and Mississippi.
“I believe that West Virginia is the kind of state that can rally around a theme that can be one West Virginia moving forward so that everyone can benefit,” Musgrove told Hoppy Kercheval, the host of MetroNews Talkline.
