Y’allPolitics is proud to publish its new mobile app that integrates all of YP content into a simple interface for your handheld device. Designed with the help of bfac.com in Jackson, this app is free on Apple and Google platforms. Just search “YallPolitics” in the app store of your choice and you’ll see it.
On your handheld, you’ll have instant access to the latest news in Mississippi politics as well as the ability to instantly access YP’s archive of over 10 years and 40,000 posts.
Whether you make a living under the Capitol Dome, in businesses throughout Mississippi or whether you are just a Mississippi ex-pat trying to keep up with what’s going on in our great state, this app is for you. We’ve added some new functionality targeted to those who “do politics for a living”.
Under the “Bills” section of the app, users have the option to so a “Simple Bill Search” of Mississippi legislation pending or can choose the “Advanced Bill Search” to search by code or keyword. Also, there are updated links to the daily House and Senate Daily Schedule and Bill Calendars as well as the most current versions of the House and Senate Rosters.
We’ve also added an “Events” calendar. This section will contain legislative deadlines as well as information on social events and receptions. If you’d like your event listed on the calendar, just email us at editor AT magnoliatribune.com.
In the “More” section, we have our traditional content feeds broken down by particular interest area. Also, there is a link to our Twitter and Facebook feeds in the “Social” section. And please opt-in for “Alerts” as we will be using that function judiciously but will be able to bring you breaking news faster than any other news outlet right to your mobile device.
We will also have some great advertising/promotional opportunities through the app, so if you have interest in advertising on the app, let us know.
We don’t say it enough, but I can’t tell you how much we appreciate our readership. We hear over and over what a positive impact the site has had on openness and transparency in state government.
