‘Bassfield Six’ sentenced in property misuse case
Six current and former City of Bassfield employees were given 10-year suspended sentences and five years of probation for their parts in converting city property to personal use.
State Auditor Stacey Pickering said Thursday morning that fraudulently obtained equipment was back in inventory for public use after the last of the “Bassfield Six” appeared in Rankin County Circuit Court.
Michael Guest, district attorney for Rankin and Madison counties, joined Pickering in a news conference to announce the sentences to the Mississippi Department of Corrections for the following:
