Hello–
Many questions remain unanswered about the president’s signature health care law.
Were the people selecting plans previously uninsured, or are they entering the exchange because ObamaCare canceled their old health insurance? Are healthy people signing up? And how many people actually have coverage?
The last question is one that I asked an Obama administration official earlier today. “So we don’t know at this point how many people have actually paid for coverage?” I asked. “That’s right,” responded the official.
And remember, the White House already walked back their goal of seven million sign-ups. Their latest number this week was roughly two million. Again, that’s sign-ups. Folks don’t truly have insurance that they can use until they pay their first month’s premium.
Today, we learned that the Obama administration doesn’t know this number.
But who’s surprised? This is the same White House that said, “If you like your plan, you can keep it.” And they promised the American people that ObamaCare would save families $2,500 per year.
So here’s a number we do know: 49. It’s the number of times I’ve voted to defund, dismantle, and destroy ObamaCare. And I won’t let up until this law is erased from federal codebooks.
God Bless,
