Bad ballots? Testimony focuses on absentee ballots
Is Dave Ware’s June 4 election challenge just about striking out “bad ballots,” as his attorneys contend? Or, as Mayor Johnny DuPree’s team stated Wednesday, is it about “disenfranchisement?”
Attorneys for Ware and DuPree dug into their respective legal positions Wednesday during proceedings that started with a bang, and ended with a whimper — and a snore.
City Clerk Eddie Myers spent more than two hours on the stand Wednesday afternoon, answering plaintiff questions about the intricacies of voter law when it comes to special ballots such as absentee ballots and curbside ballots.
