Gov. Phil Bryant remains opposed to expanding Medicaid, but he is showing signs that he is open to using federal monies to make health care services more accessible and more affordable to Mississippi’s working poor.
Now, it seems, he might be open to some sort of program that would use the federal Medicaid funds earmarked for expansion to help fund block grants that provide health care services to the needy. The details of such a program are not known, but it nonetheless remains the first signal by the governor that he is willing to look at some sort of expansion alternative.
