NUNNELEE SUPPORTS RESPONSIBLE, BALANCED BUDGET
WASHINGTON, D.C. – Congressman Alan Nunnelee (R-Miss) released the following statement after the House Budget Committee approved its plan for Fiscal Year 2014:
“I was proud to join my Republican colleagues on the Budget Committee in voting for a responsible budget that balances within 10 years without raising taxes. Our plan saves Medicare from bankruptcy, reforms the tax code to encourage job creation and economic growth, and maintains our commitment to strong national defense. Unlike the Senate Democrat’s plan, ours does not call for another trillion dollar tax increase because we know hard working Americans are taxed enough already. Families make tough choices every day to keep their budgets balanced; they have every reason to expect their government in Washington to do the same thing.”
Congressman Alan Nunnelee represents Mississippi’s First Congressional District. He serves on the House Appropriations Committee and the House Budget Committee. This is his second term.
