Bill Luckett launches LuckettforMayor Web site
I was raised in Clarksdale and have lived here since I was six weeks old. I worked my way through college, commanded a unit in the Mississippi National Guard, and returned home to be a lawyer and businessman. I believe in my hometown and have started several local, small businesses from scratch. I have invested my own money and worked alongside construction crews to rebuild abandoned buildings – helping to create jobs and revitalize a town many had written off.
We remain stymied at the bottom in too many areas such as education and income and we are beset by crime and negative attitudes. Career politicians have had their chance. It’s time for real change.
I have always tried to talk less and do more because I believe that results speak for themselves. I know the Clarksdale values of hard work, service, leadership, family, community and faith are needed more than ever, and that is what I will bring to City Hall.
I am running for Mayor of Clarksdale because I want to showcase Clarksdale! We all need to get involved and we will be able to “get it done” and create the Clarksdale that we deserve to have.
