Gunn – I’m not opposed to limiting Charter schools to failing districts

Gunn has a much tougher sell in the House of Commons.

Gunn continued: “I’m OK with limiting them to failing districts or underperforming districts, D or F or whatever we decide. My objective is to have them where kids don’t have the opportunity to get a quality education. Kids in Clinton, DeSoto County, Ocean Springs — they have that opportunity. They don’t need them. I’m not opposed to limiting them.”

“They will be public schools — non sectarian, not for religious purposes.

“We’ve had discussions about how widespread they would be, and I am not opposed to limiting their breadth or however you want to term it, having a review of them after they’re going, accountability. We want them to succeed.
