Mississippi Awarded $3.8M Victim Assistance Grant
The state of Mississippi has been awarded a $3.8 million grant for assistance and services for victims of crime.
U.S. Sen. Thad Cochran, R-Miss., said Tuesday the money was awarded to the Mississippi Division of Public Safety Planning from the U.S. Department of Justice.
Cochran says the bulk of the money will go to local, community-based public and private nonprofit organizations that provide direct services to crime victims.
