U.S. Rep. Bennie Thompson, who has asked federal authorities to investigate the G.V. (Sonny) Montgomery Veterans Affairs Medical Center, was scheduled to tour the Jackson hospital on Friday.
Thompson, a Democrat from Mississippi, said he hoped to discuss with hospital administrators and staff about treatment for veterans. He said he was pleased with the invitation from the hospital.
