New group will examine Miss. business regulations
As owners of a medical equipment company, Danyelle and Wayne Carroll say they deal with the bureaucracy of nearly a dozen state and federal agencies covering everything from taxes to Medicaid policies.
They were at the Mississippi Capitol on Monday to watch Republican Gov. Phil Bryant sign a bill designed to give owners of small businesses more say about state regulations that could affect their livelihoods.
Senate Bill 2398, which becomes law July 1, establishes a 12-member Small Business Regulatory Review Committee. The group will examine state rules and laws that could impact businesses with fewer than 100 full-time employees and gross annual sales or revenues of less than $10 million.
