Mabus, Wicker visit Ingalls shipyard
PASCAGOULA, Mississippi — As defense budget debates continue in the nation’s capitol, Chief of Naval Operations Adm. Jonathan Greenert said taking care of personnel is his greatest goal.
“It’s most important that our Navy can never be hollow,” Greenert said during a stop at Ingalls Shipbuilding in Pascagoula. “These fine people, they are the centerpiece,” he said.
Military personnel must have “proper pay, compensation and (be) properly trained,” he said, “and we take care of their families.”
