Former MSSC Judge Reuben Anderson endorses Bill Luckett

Reuben Anderson, noted Mississippian and former Supreme Court Justice, today announces his endorsement of Bill Luckett for Governor.

“I’ve known Bill Luckett a long time, I know the kind of person he is,” said Justice Anderson. “I know that Bill’s background, knowledge and wisdom is what we need to move Mississippi forward. We need a leader to grow our economy and improve education for Mississippi’s children. Bill will be that leader.”

Anderson was the first African-American Supreme Court Justice in Mississippi. His leadership on the court and within Mississippi’s civic, political, social and cultural communities is lauded around the globe. Justice Anderson’s work is visionary and has made a profound difference in the lives of thousands of aspiring Mississippians. Along with his trail blazing work as the first African American on the Mississippi Supreme Court, he is now a senior partner at Phelps Dunbar in Jackson. His commitment to Mississippi also includes the Jamie L. Whitten Chair of Law and Government at the University of Mississippi, Circuit Court Judge for the 7th Circuit Court District, County Court Judge for Hinds County, Municipal Judge for the City of Jackson and Mississippi Associate Counsel, NAACP Legal Defense and Educational Fund, Inc.
