Mississippi gains 9,200 jobs over 12 months
JACKSON — Mississippi had 9,200 more non-farm jobs last month than in March 2010.
That’s according a report released Tuesday by the U.S. Labor Department.
On a non-seasonally adjusted basis, there were 5,300 more non-farm jobs in Mississippi last month than in February 2011.
The Labor Department says the state’s unemployment rate – on a seasonally adjusted basis – remained unchanged at 10.2 percent from February to March. In March 2010, the state jobless rate was 10.8 percent.
