Tuesday Morning Redistricting Notes
Here is some of the latest on redistricting, as the process continues to take some very interesting turns:
** As we noted last night, the House Apportionment and Elections committee voted to join in the NAACP lawsuit which asked the courts to write new districts in preparation for the November elections.
** Earlier in the day I had been speaking with a Republican operative about conference and he gave me a few scenarios in which the House could join the Senate for conference. After the decision to join in the lawsuit, I asked him if we could say any talks of conference is over and he simply said, “I think that is a fair assessment.”
