Ray Mabus – Oil spill recovery plan will not be dictated
THEODORE, Ala. — The federal government will listen to local residents, rather than dictate to them, as it decides on long-term oil spill recovery plans for the Gulf Coast, the recovery leader said today.
During a town-hall-style meeting in the Nan Gray Davis Elementary School gym, Navy Secretary Ray Mabus discussed the recovery with some 150 local community leaders, elected officials and residents. He took questions and suggestions for more than an hour on issues ranging from the environment to economic recovery to education to mental health.
